The Galley Girl’s Diary Christmas Edition Part 2

Good Sunday morning. There is light snow falling this morning. I am starting week two at home. On Friday, Lorraine (my sister and best friend) and I took advantage of the only sunny day since I came home to spend the day together in Laval. Lorraine picked me up at 08h00, and we laughed when we were both wearing pink. We had a great day together and I have included a few photos. I have confirmation for a new, exciting experience. I have been invited to Georgian College in Owen Sound, Ontario. I will be there to share my thoughts and perspective on what it is like to cook on the ship with two classes that run between January 26th and February 5th. I am excited because I will be in the class with the students, and I’m sure I will learn something too. I am self-taught and look forward to being in a formal setting. It’s never too late to learn something new. Since receiving the invitation, I have been thinking about what would surprise someone who has never been on a ship. What tips could I share to make their experience a positive one? I will put together some notes, photos, and videos to share with the students. I posted “The Galley Girl’s Diary Special Christmas Edition Part 2” this past week. Click on the link on the bottom of this page if you have not seen it. In my blog, I mentioned I would share the last trip on the Atlantic Huron. I plan to spend this coming week preparing for my Georgian College Experience and will share the Atlantic Huron Story in the future. I wish you all a great day.

It was the first sunny day since I've been home and Lorraine and I took advantage of the clear roads and drove to Laval for the day. It's great to be home.

I am fortunate to live in a beautiful area.

Having a sister's day often includes a treat. Lorraine chose this cranberry pistachio dessert. It was delicious.
