HOW TO FOLLOW MY SHIP

Follow the ship I am currently on in real-time. Just enter the name of the vessel on marinetraffic.com where you will see all the information about the ship, our location, destination, speed, and the surrounding temperature and wind.

The wind is displayed in knots. If the wind is less than 15 knots, I am enjoying a nice smooth ride. Between 15 knots and 25 knots, I am experiencing some movement on the ship and there is probably a bit of a roll. If it is 25 knots or more, I am securing items in the galley to avoid spills, or we have gone to anchor to wait for the wind to die down. On the East Coast, it is different. The swell of the ocean can cause rolling even if the wind is quiet. I have been caught off guard a few times when an unexpected swell came.

Webcams

There are numerous webcams through the Seaway, Rivers, Ports, Soo Locks and Welland Canal. If I am not in the middle of serving meals I always try to come out and give the now famous cheerleader wave. If you catch a photo of me waving, I will share it here. Send the photo of me waving to sisters@shiptoshorechef.com.
